Self Righteousness

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith – Php 3:9

Self righteousness is righteousness earned by keeping the law, in India they call it the Indian Penal Code. And true to its name, the law penalises for violations. The Bible is extremely candid in proclaiming the fact that we cannot be found in Him (God) by keeping the law by our own efforts. Self righteousness negates the finished work of Jesus on the cross by which all of us who believe in Jesus Christ have already become the righteousness of God, 2 Cor 5:21: for he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Also, all of our righteousness, the Bible says, is like filthy rags, and that way none of us can ever be saved. The only way we can be saved by the law is by not committing even a single violation of the law, James 2:10 – “for whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” No one has had a track record like that, except Jesus.

He, Jesus, is the only one who qualifies to be an all sufficient saviour and He invites you today, this very moment, to eat food that can satisfy the deepest cravings of our life; John 6:35 – and Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger.
